Writing Part 2

In the IELTS Writing test, Part 2 consists of a longer task in which you are asked to write an essay. The purpose of Part 2 is to assess your ability to write a well-organized and coherent essay, using appropriate language and style, and to present and develop an argument or perspective on a given topic.

During the test, you will be given a prompt and specific instructions for the task. You will need to read the prompt and instructions carefully, and then write an essay that meets the requirements of the task.

The tasks in Part 2 are usually more challenging than those in Part 1 and require you to write an essay of at least 250 words. They may ask you to present and discuss a specific perspective or argument on a given topic or to present and support a point of view on a controversial issue.

To do well in Part 2 of the IELTS Writing test, you will need to be able to write a well-organized and coherent essay, using appropriate language and style, and to present and develop an argument or perspective on a given topic. You will also need to be able to follow the instructions and requirements of the task and use relevant and specific examples to support your points.

Nowadays, more and more people are using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to communicate and share information. While these platforms have many benefits, they also have the potential to cause harm to individuals and society. In your opinion, what are the main advantages and disadvantages of social media?

You should present and support your points with specific examples and provide your own perspective on the issue. Your essay should be at least 250 words in length.

Example Prompt 02

In many countries, the use of public transportation is an important part of the transportation system. However, some people argue that the use of private cars is more convenient and comfortable. In your opinion, do the advantages of using private cars outweigh the disadvantages?

You should present and support your points with specific examples and provide your own perspective on the issue. Your essay should be at least 250 words in length.

Over the past few decades, there has been a significant increase in the number of people living in urban areas. Some people argue that living in a city has many advantages, while others believe that it has more disadvantages. In your opinion, is living in a city a positive or negative experience?

You should present and support your points with specific examples and provide your own perspective on the issue. Your essay should be at least 250 words in length.
